Mickey’s Update

Posted on: Saturday February 18

Everything is going great with Mickey (we’ve renamed her Tove)! It only took her a couple of days to settle in and within a week, she was ruling the house! We love her so much and are thrilled to have her in our lives — even when she wakes us up at 5:30 a.m. chirping for attention. I’ve attached two recent pictures here. I would like to clarify that even though she is pictured with socks in the first picture, she is not a sock-stealer …though she does steal other things and hides them in her tent (you can see her in her tent in the second photo). She absolutely loves my boyfriend, Christopher. Here’s a picture of them hanging out the weekend we brought her home (photo by my friend Jackie):

We love this kitty so much and are so grateful we were able to give her a good home! She is doing very well — happy, healthy, energetic, eating well, and getting in plenty of playtime and exercise (she DEMANDS it!). Thank you so much for helping us adopt her!

The Goo Goo’s Update

Posted on: Friday February 17

The goo goo’s (as our 1 year old daughter calls them) are doing well. They have settled right in. We are happy that we adopted all four. We originally were going to leave Brownie and Cobbler behind (the two black ones) but so glad we didn’t. They are the sweetest. Each of the 4 has picked someone in the house that they are especially close to. Cobbler has made a special bond with our dog which is no surprise since he is the adventuring brave one. Muffin is our “book worm” She loves to lay in the books on any book shelf. Brownie is our “dog” as her behaviors are very similar to a canine and Cupcake is our sweetie. She will love on you all day long if she thinks she may get something out of the deal! They all checked out very well at the vet. They are now all about 6 pounds each. We definitely made the right choice when we brought them all home. Thank you for saving them so that we could get an opportunity to have such lovely kittens in our life as part of our family. And to think we didn’t even know we were cat people! :)

Marcia’s Update

Posted on: Monday February 13

Thought I would let you know that Marcia is doing fabulously and I couldn’t be happier with my decision to adopt her. When I let her out of the carrier when we got back to my apartment on Friday night, she ran right out and started exploring the place- she didn’t hide at all. That night, she slept at the foot of the bed and last night, she slept under the covers curled up right next to me. She is the sweetest thing! I’ve attached a few photos for you. Keep up the amazing work you guys do.

Smiley’s Update

Posted on: Wednesday February 8

Smiley is doing incredibly well. He’s just as energetic, fun, and happy as the day I got him. He’s constantly sounded by other dogs in a loving dog community and he loves being outdoors with me. Smiley’s ability to be so friendly with other dogs and people is so great that I’m able to set up so many doggy play dates. Thank you for introducing Smiley into our family. He’s such an incredible dog.

Jinx’s Update

Posted on: Tuesday February 7

Thanks for everything on Friday, Jinx is doing very well. I’m amazed how quickly he adjusted to the new house, he literally explored for 2 hours and we felt like he was right at home (No hiding or shyness). Yesterday my girlfriend told me that it seems like jinx has lived with us for years. He is insanely fun and loving, he is an outstanding cat. Thanks again.

Ginny Update

Posted on: Tuesday January 31

Ginny is doing great. She’s just as sweet as the day we got her! You’d never know she was a rescue dog from the moonshine raid in southern VA. She’s taken right to crate training, rarely barks, playful, great around my 4-year old son, and learning to walk on a leash.  Thanks so much for the heartfelt work you do to help animals in need!

Chipper a.k.a. Jack Update

Posted on: Tuesday January 31

Chipper is doing very well at home. My girlfriend and I decided to change his name, however. We’ve settled on Jack. He has been a joy to have in our apartment. He’s very respectful, loves to cuddle, and has been a joy to walk. He’s signed up for obedience classes starting next Tuesday. There have been no accidents in the house, and he’s very smart about letting us know if he needs a trip outside. We are walking him pretty often, and it’s been very good for all of us. I’m frankly amazed that you guys had this little guy for as long as you did before we found him. He’s an awesome little dog!

Luke a.k.a. Marley Update

Posted on: Tuesday January 31

Everything is going AMAZING!   We love this little guy so MUCH it’s almost unbelievable.  We noticed that he wasn’t very responsive to his name, so we decided to change his name from Luke to Marley.   We enjoy vacationing to the Caribbean, so we thought naming him after Bob Marley was quite appropriate.   He has adapted to our home and life so well.  He goes to his grandma’s house a few days a week to play with her 3 beagles.  They are just the cutest together and he loves to run around with them.

He is very well mannered in the house, he doesn’t bark which is nice, and we were really surprised that he doesn’t beg for food at the table, when we are eating he goes to the living room and just lays on the couch. The only issues we have with him is he tends to pull on occasion outside, and when he sees a dog and doesn’t get a chance to sniff and say hi, he’ll bark instead.  He has a very deep bark/howl.  We’re trying to work on that with him, we hope to find a training class for him to participate in.

We could not be happier with this adoption.  He just fit us so perfectly, it’s only been 3 weeks since we adopted him, but it feels like he’s been with us all along.

Jordana a.k.a. Rosie Update

Posted on: Tuesday January 31

Rosie is doing so well here, we couldn’t be more thrilled. She already visited the vet (where everyone wanted to play with her) and has a clean bill of health.  We’re also working with a trainer to ensure that she continues to have good manners.  I thought you might enjoy the attached picture, which I just took of her this evening–she’s pooped from romping at the dog park!

Kimmy a.k.a. Lily Update

Posted on: Wednesday January 25

Kimmy, who we now call Lily, is one of us now and we all love her like crazy. Everyone who meets her thinks we are so lucky to have such a sweet, gentle, and beautiful dog.  She jogs perfectly in stride with me, she’s just perfect! We’ve got her (us) in a training class back at the Petsmart and she’s so receptive.  Thanks for Lily!
